MLSListings Launches a New Innovation through RESO Web API Add/Edit Technology

The RESO Web API is the most widely used technology standard for moving real-estate data between systems. MLSListings, a Silicon Valley-based company, is leading the Web API revolution by using RESO’s new Add/Edit standard. This standard allows real estate brokers and vendors to pull data from their MLSs through a variety of technologies. The RESO Web API has seen a tremendous increase in usage over the past two years. It is now available in approximately 500 MLS markets, and is now used by one-third of the industry’s data users. This technology is expected to become the primary industry data transport within the next few years, according to the trend line.
This technology does more than just download MLS data. The RESO Web API allows data to be published back to the MLS. A broker can use the standard to upload listing data rather than just downloading it.
MLSListings is first MLS to have this production feature validated by RESO.
Brokers can choose which apps and systems they prefer, and their interactions with the MLS’s data can be improved. This will increase product choice and competition. This ability to use a “frontend of choice” in their day-today operations and to connect with the MLS’s backend data efficiently has been requested by the industry for a long time.
MLSListings: Creating Technology Choices For Brokers”MLSListings is committed making broker technology flexible and allowing brokers the ability to work with their customers in whatever location suits their business needs,” said Dave Wetzel (President and CEO of MLSListings). “By enabling edit via API, we give our brokers and agents more options in how they conduct business.”
A broker can update listings using a mobile app, a website, or a back office system. Practitioners can use MLS, broker, or agent tools to interact directly with client listings – whichever suits their business needs and style best.
Olga Ermolin (Director of Engineering at MLSListings), stated that before we implement any new technology or feature, we first consult RESO standards. “Standardizing solutions enables technology partners to deliver features quickly – not only in our market, but also outside it.” We are helping to improve the industry and our market by implementing this new technology, and working with RESO to make it happen.
This innovation is supported by RESO’s Web API Add/Edit standard. This is the first step towards allowing the real estate industry more technology systems to work together seamlessly.
RESO encourages other organizations to share their implementations with us, as MLSListings is the leader in the first verifiable implementation of this technology. This standard will become a fully-fledged, ratified component of the RESO API standard as more systems are verified.
